Site Launch and Giveaway!

Hello!


This is a fan site for the Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins as you can tell from the title, duh! I'm Sam, you might know me from my blog Falling Books. :) This blog is for all those Sweet Evil fans out there. There will be interviews, reviews, giveaways and a whole load more!

If you haven't read this yet then check out the 'PRAISE' and 'SWEET EVIL (#1)' pages at the top of the blog to find out what other bloggers thought about it and what the book's about. Anyway, here is the interview I had with Wendy!

Where did the idea for Sweet Evil come from?

A little birdie whispered it to me...no seriously, I never know how to answer this question, lol. I feel like all of the experiences of my life played a part - everything from the relationships I've had to the books I've read. The story kind of came out of nowhere very suddenly.

Who is your favourite character from the book?

I can't pick a favorite!  That's like picking a favorite child!  :)  I seriously love each of them in their own unique way. I feel closest to Anna since I'm in her head (or she's in mine...) but I also have a VERY soft spot for Kaidan. I heart him.

How did you feel when you found out that Sweet Evil would be published?

When the editor from HarperCollins first contacted me, it was the most unbelievable dream-come-true moment. I did this really embarrassing chocking-sob thing (glad nobody witnessed that) and I was shaking all day. I couldn't even cook dinner - I had to order pizza. 

Harry Potter or Twilight?

To be honest, I loved them both. But I'm leaning toward Harry Potter. I can't wait to read it with my kids.

Angels or demons?

Angels.  Demons give me the shivers.

What advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Write what's on your heart. Don't write based on what you think someone else wants or doesn't want. And don't let rejections get you down - it's all part of the process. Revision is key.

Describe Sweet Evil in 10 words.

A dark, sensual love story with thrilling fallen-angel lore.

About Wendy:

After earning a bachelors in Creative Writing from George Mason University and a masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Radford, Wendy taught high school English until becoming a mommy. Writing Young Adult (YA) stories gives her the opportunity to delve into the ambiguities of those pivotal, daunting, and exciting years before adulthood.

She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, daughter, and son. Sweet Evil is her debut novel.
